General Functions

This position is responsible for various activities within the Finance/Accounting Department including, but not limited to; preparation of financial statements for multiple companies, annual audit preparation and coordination, general ledger and subsidiary ledger reconciliations, cash receipts, bank and investment reconciliations, intercompany billing and reconciliations, and project cost reconciliations as assigned.

Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)

Reconcile general ledger accounts

Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to general ledger as needed or as assigned

Complete bank reconciliations for operating accounts

Write daily cash receipts and prepare bank deposits

File and track voided checks for CIHA and subsidiary companies

Prepare, process and reconcile inter-company activity on a recurring basis to ensure all transactions are booked and reconciled between CIHA Corporate and subsidiary companies books

Assist in inter-company process design and implementation to streamline inter-company activity

Responsible for assigned month-end and year-end activities to ensure accurate financial reports

Prepare financial statements for subsidiary companies

Assist in compiling combined financial statements

Assist in maintaining and updating financial procedures as needed

Assist in audit preparation for multiple companies

Coordinate project and program audits as required

Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

Experienced in all aspects of general bookkeeping

Self starter with ability to solve problems with minimal direction/supervision

Experience working with MS Office products with emphasis in Excel and Word

Experience working with automated accounting software packages

Experience working with property management and/or TenMast software desired

Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics GP desired

Ability to type 40 words a minute and to operate 10-key by touch

Strong interpersonal communication and organization skills

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree from an accredited college with major course work in accounting, or closely related field or experience may be substituted for college on a year-for-year basis.

Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and supervision
