Foundation's Lead Program Coordinator

Foundation’s Lead Program Coordinator: The Foundation’s Lead Program Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of Extension and Enrichment (E&E) educational activities and sports/fitness training. The Lead Program Coordinator will focus on community engagement, program development, transportation arrangements, and providing outreach to youth and families within the Matsu Borough service area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In collaboration with the Foundation’s team, plan and implement the following E&E activities:

Referee training

Read and respond / math-a-thon

Youth leadership

Outdoor activities

Collaborate in the recruitment of youth programs:

Basketball, volleyball, flag football

Read and respond / math-a-thon

VR healthcare education

E-sports gaming

Summer leadership

Develop active/collaborative partnerships with other training providers.

Create and distribute activity schedules.

Keep organized and detailed records of all youth participants and the activities they participated in.

Create safety guidelines for all program activities.

Plan and coordinate transportation routes/schedules.

Develop media campaigns and community outreach.

Coordinate facility/court use.

Follow the guidelines of the CHOICES grant.

Provide outreach information on services available within the Matsu Borough service area.

Obtain, track, and document all pertinent information.

Submit data and reports on time to the program Director.

Participate in scheduled community meetings as requested.

Travel to occasional training or meetings.

Work as part of a team, the team includes co-workers, partner agencies, and participants/participant parent or guardian.

Maintain confidentiality according to regulations, policies, and procedures.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Demonstrated ability to identify resources in the community and make informed referrals.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the social, health, education and training and cultural needs of the Alaska Native and American Indian community.

Maintain confidentiality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position is very active including sports activities both indoors and outdoors.

Ability to stand, walk, run, lift, carry, bend, squat, and climb, along with the ability to demonstrate sport specific movements and techniques.

Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Individual may be exposed to various environmental conditions, including inclement weather, noise exposure, chemical exposure and infectious materials/blood borne pathogen exposure.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Associate’s degree in education, Sports Science, or related field, preferred.

One (1) year experience in related field and continuing education toward a higher degree.

One (1) year of youth activity coordination, in an education field setting.

Valid state of Alaska driver’s license and be insurable under KT’s automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record.

Clean state and federal background check.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYEMENT:

Knowledge and experience of Knik Tribe’s service area and Knik Tribe’s programs.

Adequate experience with all Microsoft Office Applications.

Capable of basic maintenance for general office equipment.

Maintain a clean criminal background check.

Maintain a clean driving record.

Willingness to be trained and new learning environments.

Knowledge and application of professional and ethical conduct as guided by Knik Tribal

General Information:

Supervisor: Education/Youth/Training Director

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Salary: $30.00 – $36.00 per hour DOE/E. Plus full benefits: Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid leave and holidays, and retirement plan with matching contributions.

Additional Information: Hiring preferences shall be given to eligible and qualified Alaska Native/American Indian applicants pursuant to P.L. 93-638 Indian Self Determination Act.
