AQUARIAN CHILDCARE PROGRAM - STAFF
Staff needed in Aquarian Childcare Program at Aquarian Charter Elementary School working with school-age youth. Position works within the program assisting in implementing before and after school program activities for youth.
This is a regular, part-time position, 22.5/wk (school year, 7am - 8:30am and 3pm-6 pm) and, with occasional opportunities for additional hours when available. Perfect for students or as a second job. Pay is $12/hr DOE/Q.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
High School diploma or graduation equivalency degree (GED); three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Basic understanding of child development, generally acquired through a minimum of 6 months' experience tutoring, mentoring, or supervising children.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Above average problem-solving skills.
Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to complete within 3 months.
At least 16 years of age.
Ability to relate to young children and to maintain good relations with peers.
Enthusiasm and flexibility.
Punctual and reliable attendance.
Pass criminal background and fingerprint clearance.
Prolonged periods of standing.
Work outside in varying temperatures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Adhere to all Aquarian Childcare Program guidelines and expectations as written in Aquarian Childcare Program Employee Handbook, and MOA Licensing Code.
Observe Aquarian Childcare Program policies and procedures at all times.
Assist with workshops, activities, and events under the direction of the Assistant Director or Executive Director.
Supervise children according to licensing standards.
Assist staff with maintaining MOA ratio requirements.
Assist with program planning and development as directed by Executive Director.
Use positive behavior support with children consistently.
Serve meals and snacks according to Aquarian Childcare Program and MOA Licensing guidelines and regulations.
Maintain positive relations with Directors, co-workers, children, volunteers and parents, as well as school staff.
Punctual and reliable attendance.
Ensure a productive work environment by participating in required staff meetings.
Accurately record hours worked and complete timesheets by required payroll deadline.
Demonstrate flexibility to changing priorities and assume additional duties as required.
