CIVIL / STRUCTURAL ENGINEER (Midtown Anchorage)

Education
⢠Experienced non-licensed applicants will be considered for this position
⢠Two years of college in Civil/Structural Engineering with minimum 8 years of relevant experience
OR
⢠Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with minimum 0-3 years of relevant experience
Interpersonal Skills
⢠Must have ability to work well with others as part of a team
⢠Must have ability to maintain composure and respect others when under pressure
⢠Must be able to work independently
⢠Possess good organizational skills
⢠Good verbal/written communications skills a plus
Technical Skills
⢠Must be familiar with AutoCAD
⢠Fluent AutoCAD skills a plus
⢠Engineer is expected to do a significant amount of his/her own detailing in AutoCAD
⢠Must be familiar with structural analysis software, RISA experience a plus
⢠Must be familiar with IBC, ASCE-07, AISC, AWS Codes of Practice, ACI
⢠Familiar with MS Office Programs: Word, Excel and Outlook
⢠Able to perform calculations to analyze building structural systems and members for structural integrity and compliance with applicable codes
⢠Experience in hydrocarbon projects a plus
⢠Experience with truckable steel and wood modules a plus
⢠Experience with wood, steel, concrete foundations, and light gage metal shapes; possess strong design knowledge of wood and steel
⢠Demonstrate good detail design skills, communication skills and understanding of cross-discipline needs for continuous coordination with other architects and engineers, lead engineer, project management, commercial and procurement on multidiscipline design and construction projects
⢠Able to coordinate projects with owners, architects and engineers relating to plan design and resolution of design problems
⢠Have engineering experience on commercial and industrial projects including ability to review and identify inadequacies found on construction documents
