Job Summary: As a line cook at Palmer Alehouse, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment. You will work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure that all food items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and consistency, adhering to our presentation guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation and Cooking:

o Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.

o Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented in a timely manner and meet quality standards.

o Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following proper food safety and sanitation procedures.

Kitchen Operations:

o Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.

o Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.

o Monitor and manage cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal food quality.

Collaboration and Communication:

o Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

o Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff to coordinate meal timing and special requests.

o Assist with training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed.

Qualifications:

Experience:

o Proven experience as a line cook in a high-volume restaurant or similar establishment.

o Strong understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.

Skills:

o Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

o Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods.

o Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely.

o Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting.

Certifications:

o A State of Alaska Food Worker Card must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements:

o Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

o Capability to handle a high-pressure environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Work in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and noise.
