Palmer Alehouse is seeking to fill the position of Host! Our fast paced restaurant must be led by a confident and creative thinker who is welcoming and dedicated to providing a wonderful guest experience. The Host is one of the most important positions in the venue as they are the time keeper to the entire flow and rhythm of the restaurant.The host is necessary for ensuring that we are in complete control of our environment, of our service, and of our guests and their experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Being able to multitask while remaining collected and in control.
- Thinking out of the box and problem solve.
- Understand the differences between service and hospitality and how it affects the guest experience.
- Can make decisions in a pinch and have the flexibility to pivot from an original plan.
- Take orders using a Point-of-Sale system.
- Utilize an iOS based platform for waitlist and reservations management.
- Can communicate clearly and precisely to others.
- Make and receive phone calls and provide informed answers to guest’s questions.
- Ability to prioritize work, and maintain an attention to detail while working in a team or group environment.
- Must be able to learn the menu and recite correct information while multitasking.
- Not be afraid to ask questions and can take direction.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have open availability including weekends and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Restaurant experience is not necessary, however any work in customer service or guest relations may be helpful.
