We are seeking an experienced dental assistant that is capable of owning the practice schedule as a whole. We have an extremely fast paced dental office where flexibility is critical in the new team member's success/role. It is not uncommon to do multiple procedures or have additional procedures added at any given time and the ability for the individual to work efficiently and effectively is critical. Our ideal candidate would have at least 2 years of dental assisting experience in all facets of dentistry including, restorative, prosthetics, surgery, etc. While also having the confidence to discuss finances/insurance coverage with patients.
We are ultimately looking for a driven, multi-tasking, detail-oriented individual that can manage/prioritize their own day. Dentrix/Dexis experience is preferred but not required.
More specific duties include; setting up/tearing down rooms for crowns, bridges, root canals, smile designs, implants, extractions, dentures, orthodontics etc. Capable of completing other supportive functions like placing rubber dams, scanning dentition with digital scanners, taking radiographs, creating temporary crowns, delivering verbal/written post operative instructions, stocking treatment rooms, placing Invisalign buttons, and taking both digital and PVS/Alginate impressions.
Furthermore, our ideal team member would be capable of anticipating the needs of all scheduled providers (doctors and hygienists) as well as other team members. The daily function of a dental assistant includes seeing patients within their schedule and also that of others. When other team members are running behind, help with hygiene, complete clinical notes for patients seen, complete lab cases/requests with both in-state and out-of-state laboratories, sterilization, bring back patients for radiographs/exams when hygienists are still with other patients, and completing 6-handed dentistry when no other functions are required at that time.
We do not require all functions be met by our future team member before hire, because a driven personality that is willing to learn is what we are really interested in.
