Daily Maintenance Engineer

Summary of Position:

Accountable for the daily maintenance of East Side Storage, the Laundry Plant, Mountain View Shopping Center, and Eagle River. Required to respond to requests for maintenance and other projects as assigned. Ensure all maintenance work is performed in the most cost and time efficient manner while maintaining the value of the properties.

Essential Functions:

Perform various activities for maintenance and energy management necessary to maintain or improve the physical appearance and functional capability of various properties.

Ensure equipment is kept in good repair and perform minor preventative maintenance

Perform maintenance and general repair to include plumbing, install and maintain bathroom fixtures, install electrical outlets, ballast, light fixtures, photo cells, keep boiler rooms clean, check roofs and roof top units, clean light lenses and replace bulbs, replace ceiling tiles, repair and replace carpet and floor tiles, maintain parking lots, including cleanup of all grounds, sweeping and washing sidewalks in summer, removing snow and ice in winter.

Responsible for tenant calls including, but not limited to, adjusting thermostats, delivering ladders, etc.

Ensure dumpsters are emptied and trash removal is on schedule

Meet contractors to allow entry to areas

Install and remove interior and exterior Christmas decorations

Meet with fire inspectors and maintain fire panels

Maintain daily log of maintenance performed

Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Facility Manager

Assure the security and safety of the properties for tenants and shoppers through direction and control of Loss Prevention Programs.

Complete incident reports and submit in a timely and accurate manner to Maintenance Facility Manager

Identify opportunities for greater efficiency and improved loss prevention results

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Skills/Abilities:

Interpersonal, verbal and written English communication skills are essential to the position. A personal and polite attitude along with a professional appearance is required. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds occasionally. Must have working knowledge of power tools of the type used in building maintenance. Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills are essential functions of this position. Individual must exhibit a cooperative attitude toward his/her job and other personnel. Strong reasoning and trouble shooting skills required.

Essential functions may be adjusted due to changing property conditions or requirements per the Vice President and Hickel Investment Company.
