Job Title: Dinner Meal Instructor
Location: Big Lake Country Club (Assisted-Living Group Home)
Reports To: Owner / Supervisor
Position Summary:
The Dinner Meal Instructor is responsible for training and guiding staff in the preparation of homestyle dinner meals, based on a pre-set monthly menu. This role emphasizes proper meal preparation techniques, food portioning, and adherence to recipes to ensure that all ingredients are used wisely and meals are consistent, nourishing, and comforting for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach staff how to prepare homestyle dinners following the established monthly menu.
Demonstrate proper cooking techniques, including safe food handling, seasoning, portion control, and plating.
Ensure that staff understand how to manage ingredients so that food supply lasts through the entire month.
Provide hands-on instruction in the kitchen during dinner prep, modeling best practices in meal execution and kitchen safety.
Monitor staff performance during training and offer constructive feedback and support.
Collaborate with the Supervisor to track inventory usage and report potential shortages or overuse using "Grocy" web application
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment that promotes learning and safety.
Assist in the development of quick reference materials or guides to support staff after training sessions.
Requirements:
Experience in cooking and teaching or training others in a kitchen setting.
Strong knowledge of homestyle cooking methods and meal planning.
ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain).
Patience, clear communication skills, and a team-oriented attitude.
Ability to model professionalism, cleanliness, and respect in a shared kitchen space.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday
3:00 PM - 9:00 PM (6 hours/day)
