GPC is looking for a full-time qualified Material Expeditor. This person will coordinate and expedite the flow of equipment, material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisor priorities. Assist shop personnel in the assembly, maintenance and repair of ESSM equipment. Reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and performs research to locate supplies between storage and production areas to meet production schedules. May compute amount of material needed for specific job orders, compile reports and production schedules. Uses computerized system and other assigned programs, tools or records to enter and extract data.
Will pick up and deliver parts and supplies from vendors. So, you will have to know the Anchorage area well.
Will operate vehicles such as double cab pick-up truck, hand trucks, forklifts or industrial trucks to move tools, material and equipment from one department to another. Will handle weights up to 100 pounds, average of 50 pounds.
Work requires vertical and inclined ladders and brief periods of strained positions, such as kneeling, stooping and maneuvering in close quarters. Performs after hours and weekends emergency response services as required. Occasionally may operate small boats and other marine equipment using general seamanship and related marine skills.
Follows all GPC safety programs and OSHA requirements, receives GPC safety training for emergency operations.
Must have:
High School Diploma or equivalent
A valid driver's license and have a clean driving record
Expediting experience
