We are searching for an experienced Plant Laborer Fleet (Seasonal) at our Palmer Plant Bldg facility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Reports to: Shop Leadman
Nature of Work:
Performs low skilled work and general labor duties in all or some of the areas of vehicle shop.
Assist if requested, in vehicle service repair and maintenance.
Illustrative Tasks:
The Plant Laborer will assist in some or all, of the following illustrative tasks:
Under direction of mechanics, performs minor maintenance on MTA vehicles/work equipment.
Performs necessary housekeeping duties in the shop, yard, and other facilities to assure an orderly and safe environment.
Assist the shop in the movement and handling of equipment, vehicles, and materials.
Performs general pick-up and delivery duties.
Performs shop record‑keeping/data entry as required.
Performs general clean up, vehicle inspection, tire repairs, fluid topping and fueling of vehicles and equipment.
Performs other general maintenance duties as assigned.
In all work activities, seek ways to reduce costs and minimize expenditure of Association resources, while maximizing the level of service to all customers.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Has a working knowledge of mechanical equipment, small engine operations and maintenance. Able to repair minor equipment troubles.
Understanding of principles of industrial safety as they apply to MTA's operations.
Basic skills to perform all work as directed. Perform work in a manner conforming to Association standards and government regulations and not endanger fellow workmen, the general public, or himself/herself.
Able to perform specific maintenance tasks with low to moderate oversight.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Possess a valid Alaska Driver's License.
Ability to pass a standard physical examination.
Ability to lift and move objects weighing seventy (70) pounds.
Able to climb up on equipment to inspect and fuel.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
