Anchorage Contractor Needed
Arctic General operates low-cost grocery stores in the Alaskan Arctic. As with our competitors, many of our products are sourced from the Anchorage Costco Business Center. These items need to be picked up, boxed at our facility, and dropped at the Anchorage Airport Post Office.
In further detail:
Contractor will pick up items from Costco Warehouse between the hours of 7am - 2pm Monday through Friday. It may be possible to adjust these hours if necessary. The items will have already been picked and should be waiting for the contractor.
Contractor will take items to Arctic General facility, where they will be scanned and packaged into two-cubic-foot cardboard boxes, weighing up to 70 pounds each. Contractor will weigh the boxes and apply shipping labels.
Contractor will deliver the boxes to the Anchorage Airport Post Office Bulk Mail Acceptance Area between 9am - 6pm Monday through Friday, or until 9pm on Thursdays.
The contractor will need a vehicle or truck. All other materials will be provided. We expect to be handling up to a couple thousand pounds of goods, so multiple trips may be needed, however everything should be able to be accomplished with a reasonably sized SUV.
Pay:
$50 per 100 items
Up to $1.00 bonus for larger boxes/cases
No guarantees can be made, but contractor should be able to net at least $25-$30/hour - most of the work is just quickly tossing goods into boxes.
Payment via check or direct deposit, upon completion.
Schedule:
Every one to two weeks, but we are extremely flexible on dates. Ability to do smaller weekly shipments if necessary. Should be available on weekdays to meet critical pickup/dropoff times as stated above, but which weekday can be predetermined. Should be able to work around other commitments.
Begins:
Work will likely begin in October 2024.
Next Steps:
Please reach out over email if interested. I (Jonas) will be available to meet near downtown anchorage on Thursday, October 17 at any time of your choosing.
