Accounting Specialist III (Data Analysis)

Responsible for analyzing past financial performance to predict future performance and to advise the Finance Director, Executive Director, and Board of Directors.
Essential Functions

Analyses business and financial data.
Creates financial models based on analyses to support organizational decision-making.
Develops financial plans and reports for organizational leaders.
Analyzes industry trends and makes recommendations based on those trends.
Evaluates capital expenditures and depreciation.
Develops automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.
Maintains general ledger, posting journal entries to general ledger.
Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly.
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Produce reports and presentation materials for QIRP, Board, and Finance Committee meetings under the direction of the Finance Director.
Support the Mission, Vision and Values of Access Alaska Inc.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, auditor, computer programmer analyst, or valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate. Access Alaska Inc. will consider six years of experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst.
Experience
With a degree: Two years of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst or a valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate with at least one year of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst.
Without a degree: 6 years of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst or a valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate with at least one year of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst.
Equipment
Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, One Note, One Drive, Teams, Zoom, Website usage, Computer, phones, Copier, Printers, Scanner, Fax Machine.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms.
Ability to see close and far distances, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Lift or move up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
Work Hours and Days
Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm working in the office.
Rate of Pay
$31.51 to $34.08 DOE
Full Time Non-Exempt
