have the job for you! Girl Scouts of Alaska (GSAK) is currently seeking our next Development,
Board, and Events Specialist. With professional enthusiasm, you will help build support for GSAK’s
services to thousands of girl members and adult volunteers.
The Development, Board, and Events Specialist is responsible for developing and managing the
council's annual giving campaign, managing the council's fund development data management
systems (including data entry and digital and physical filing), providing support to the council's
overall fundraising program, including annual events and providing administrative support to the
Board of Directors and CEO. They serve Girl Scouts of Alaska in achieving fund development and
alumnae relations goals while conducting communications, operations, and coordination specific
to GSAK’s board of directors and its committees.
The Development, Board, and Events Specialist will help to foster a culture of philanthropy in the
organization and advance philanthropy on behalf of Girl Scouts of Alaska. They are responsible for
the planning, implementation, management, and oversight of fundraising events, Board support,
and alumni relations activities. They assist the Development Manager in fundraising goals including
donor database management, campaigns, and grant management.

building professional relationships with Alaskan audiences of varying generational, regional, ethnic,
and socio-economic perspectives.
You Have:
Experience in fund raising or development. (Experience using donor database systems preferred.)
An understanding of the mission and vision of Girl Scouts and the ability to share this
mission and vision with the general public.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Access to reliable transportation. This position will regularly be required to travel outside
of the council office during working hours.
An ability to be flexible and able to work outside of regular business hours, with some
evening and weekend hours required.

Able to adhere to the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) fundraising code of
ethics and the Donor Bill of Rights.
Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, board, those
interested in Girl Scouts, and staff.
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Able to develop volunteer networks and act as a liaison to community groups and funders.
