The Youth Employment Specialist falls under the guidance of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to provide employment and/or education services to at-risk out of school youth aged 16-24. The Youth Employment Specialist will also recruit employer partners to provide vocational training to the youth. This position will be based within the Covenant House Alaska in partnership with the permanency navigation team
DUTIES:
Recruit, assess and enroll qualified at-risk youth into programming
Provide goal oriented case planning to assist youth in completing objectives
Complete one year of follow up services on exited youth
Coordinate youth services with local employers, educators and other service providers
Operate in partnership with other organizations
Enter all relevant data into the database
Desired Qualifications:
A Bachelor Degree from an accredited university or an Associate degree in Human Services
Experience working with an at risk youth population
Ability to work with a diverse population

Full -time
8-hour shift
Day shift
