General Functions
This position is responsible for various activities as assigned within the CILC Finance functional area including, but not limited to general ledger reconciliations, accounts payable, cash receipts, bank reconciliations, and audit preparation.
Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)
· Prepares various schedules and reconciles them to general ledger accounts
· Record and categorize expenses, donations, and other financial activities
· Completes bank reconciliations
· Assists in financial reporting for grants
· Assists with tracking expenditures and revenues against budgeted amounts, identifying and addressing any
discrepancies
· Assists in maintaining and updating financial procedures as needed
· Writes cash receipts and prepare bank deposits
· Gather and prepare work papers to complete CILC month-end close folder
· Performs data entry
· Assists in month end and year end activities to insure accurate financial reporting
· Assists in audit preparation
· Performs other related duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
· Experienced in all aspects of general bookkeeping.
· Ability to simultaneously manage multiple assignments.
· Self-starter with ability to solve problems with minimal direction/supervision.
· Ability to work in deadline-driven environments.
· Experience working with MS Office products with emphasis in Excel and Word.
· Experience working with automated accounting software packages.
· Experience working with MRI Software preferred.
· Ability to type 40 words a minute and to operate 10-key by touch.
· Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or 2+ years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and applicable work experience.
