Alaska Bead Company – Full-Time Sales Clerk / Inventory Control Analyst
Alaska Bead Company is hiring a Full-Time, Permanent Sales Clerk / Inventory Control Analyst to join our team, working Tuesday through Saturday. This position pays $15.50/hr and offers steady hours, cross-training opportunities, and growth within a long-established local business.
Alaska Bead Company is a specialty retail bead store located in mid-town Anchorage. For over 30 years, we have provided beads, findings, tools, and creative supplies for Alaska’s jewelry makers and hobbyists.
Employee Job Duties
Customer Service & Sales (Sales Clerk Duties)
Greet customers, assist with purchases, and answer product questions.
Process customer purchases using our computer-based Point of Sale system.
Demonstrate basic jewelry-making techniques as needed (training provided).
Straighten, display, and restock store inventory.
Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized sales floor.
Inventory Control Analyst Duties
Assist with inventory cycle counts and inventory spot checks.
Run and review the weekly negative-on-hand report; research and document causes.
Research inventory discrepancies and help resolve count variances.
Perform inventory adjustments under management direction.
Conduct accuracy checks on labeling, part numbers, shelf locations, and min/max levels.
Monitor and report error trends involving receiving, processing, or sales activity.
Support periodic inventory audits and help verify system quantities.
Assist management in documenting inventory findings and recommending process improvements.
Other Duties
Perform additional related duties as assigned to support store operations.
Note: This position requires the employee to be on their feet for most of the shift, except during breaks.
Job Requirements
Ability to work a full-time schedule, Tuesday through Saturday.
Retail experience or public-facing experience preferred.
Experience with inventory accuracy, counting, or detail-oriented work is a plus.
Basic knowledge or interest in making beaded jewelry strongly preferred.
Must possess basic math and computer skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Must have a positive attitude and enjoy helping customers.
Ability to lift and move boxes (typically 10–25 lbs).
