Alaska Bead Company is looking for an energetic and outgoing Sales Clerk I to work Part-Time, Permanent, approximately 15-25 hours per week. Must be able to work Saturdays. Typical shifts can run anywhere from 4 to 7 hours during the 11am to 6pm time frame. It is our goal to try and accommodate your desired schedule as much as possible, but the store's business needs may require that you work specific days on a consistent basis.
Alaska Bead Company is a growing Retail Bead company that has a storefront in mid-town Anchorage that has offered beads, findings, tools, beading supplies, and classes for the jewelry making and hobbyist community for 30 years. Our planned future growth will lead to many new opportunities, including full-time positions, and we will be looking to promote from within. While we have a basic website presence currently at alaskabead.com, we are going to be expending significant resources in order to launch a new state-of-the-art webstore with a shopping cart that will handle over 10,000 of our product codes in 2025. Employee Job Duties:
1. Greet customersassist them with purchases and answer their questions.
2. Process customer purchases using the computer and Point of Sale software.
3. Demonstrate basic jewelry making techniques to customers as required (You will receive training to do this).
4. Straighten, display, and restock store inventory.
5. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Note: This job requires Employee to be on his/her feet the entire length of his/her shift except for when he/she is on break.
Job Requirements:
1. Must be able to work a shift that lasts between 4 to 7 hours.
2. Retail store experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience working with the public preferred.
3. Basic knowledge and skill in making beaded jewelry preferred.
4. Must possess a high level of interest in beading.
5. Must have basic math skills.
6. Must have a positive attitude and enjoy working with the public.
Wage & Benefits:
1. Wage $14.00/hr
