Stratus Services is looking for a Desktop & Helpdesk technician. A level 1 looking to move up or a level 2 that is also looking to take the next step in their career. I am looking for a person that is geared towards responding to the customers’ needs in person. This is a hands-on role that requires willingness to have a scheduled day and then be interrupted and go on-site to the customers location. It may require fixing a PC or replacing a hard drive. Could be a cabling issue. Could be installing new equipment and removing or decommissioning old gear. I am not looking for someone that is “willing” to do this work… Someone that wants to do this kind of work first, and then willing to do remote work if that is what is needed keep a customer happy and supported.

We are an MSP & Contract IT support company that focuses on companies that need to or want to outsource their support of virtual desktops (VDI), desktops, printers, scanners, severs and/or application support in a helpdesk environment. We have major backgrounds in deploying VDI, VMware, storage networks and Microsoft products.

This position requires a physical presence and working on-site in Anchorage. If you do not already reside in the Anchorage area or are unable to be present in Anchorage every day, please refrain from applying.

Your skills and education could be similar to these:

Could have been to college but at least has a High school level education.

1 to 3 years of experience working hands on in Technology fields

Equivalent combination of related education and/or work experience.

Vendor or industry certifications are a plus

We work a 40-hour work-week that is conducted at customer’s facilities & from our offices. Individuals may be required to work from other approved locations, which may include a home office from time to time. Occasional travel to other company business locations within the Anchorage area and to the company’s regional offices may be required. There may be the need to provide emergency after-hours support to our customers. Stratus has the attitude of whatever it takes to get the job done.

You will need to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a satisfactory driving record. You will need reliable transportation and Stratus will re-imbursed mileage expenses on a monthly basis. ( often bi-weekly with a matching payroll & expense forms)

Hourly wage is based on your skill set and experience. We are looking for the right individual to educate and grow into full level 3 MSP industry tech. Education & training certification opportunities available to the right person.

This position requires you to be in Alaska already, in person, boots on the ground. This is also an in-person role with very little (if any) remote work, may have to work from Customer location on short notice. Also need to have reliable transportation.
