Cabinet Designer/Estimator

We are a well-established General Contractor seeking a skilled Cabinet Designer/Estimator to create custom 3D models and estimates for commercial and residential clients in Alaska.

Must be familiar with 3D design software, Windows 11 OS, MS Office Word & Excel, PDFs, & materials used to fabricate custom cabinets and laminate countertops. Able to accurately measure a variety of spaces, create functional & aesthetic area designs using SketchUp software, select materials, provide quotes, coordinate with builders/installers, ensure quality, balancing technical skill with strong customer service for unique Alaskan homes and commercial property projects. Key duties include client consultation, 3D rendering, material specs, cost estimation, and understanding Alaskan building needs.

Responsibilities:

- Client Consultation: Meet with property owners to understand needs, preferences, and project scope.

- Site Assessment: Visit job sites to take precise measurements and assess space constraints.

- Design & Drafting: Develop detailed layouts, plans, and 3D renderings using specialized software.

- Material Selection: Specify materials, finishes, hardware, and accessories, considering durability for Alaska's climate.

- Quoting & Sales: Prepare detailed quotes, manage pricing, and present designs for client approval.

- Coordination: Work with production, material suppliers, and General Contractors to ensure designs are manufacturable and installable.

- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:

Work history and references that can verify your personal experience level.

Ability to read measuring tools, mathematical proficiency related to work tasks such as verifying dimensions, quantities, working on take-offs, etc.

Must have reliable transportation to and from work and a valid drivers license.

Software Proficiency: Expertise in Design, preferably in SketchUp, or similar 3D modeling tools.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of cabinetry construction, space optimization, and design principles.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication, customer service, attention to detail, and problem-solving.

Experience: Background in cabinet design, interior design, or related field. Experience with design-build, or design-bid-build contracts.

Physically: Must be able to maintain body balance, use hands and arms fully, stand, kneel, bend, crawl, or crouch, sit or stand at a desk for long periods of time, and ability to see well (either naturally or with correction). Ability to take accurate site measurements, procure project material, and assist with delivering finished products to job sites for installation.

Job Type: Full-time

Starting Pay: Dependent on experience, from $58,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year + benefits.
