We are a general contractor which specializes mainly in commercial construction, tenant improvements, structural repairs, carpentry, and general construction.
We are looking for a well-rounded, experienced and / or willing to learn carpenters to join our team immediately. We are willing to train the right candidate.
This is a full-time, year-round position working primarily in Anchorage.
Possible Duties and Responsibilities:
Carpentry Tasks: Perform skilled carpentry work, including concrete, metal / wood framing, drywall, door/window installations, finish work and general construction.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Basic understanding of project plans, and construction documents.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with site supervisors and other trades to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
Quality Standards:
Neat appearance, maintain high standards of craftsmanship while ensuring that all tasks are completed according to safety standards, with a strong focus on quality control and adherence to building codes.
Tool Operation:
Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and equipment associated with construction work.
Site Maintenance:
Ensure work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe for yourself and other on-site workers.
Project Documentation:
Maintain accurate time sheets, daily logs, and project records.
Upload site photos and document progress regularly using construction software.
Report regularly to the project management team.
Problem-Solving:
Address and resolve on-site challenges, including unforeseen delays, resource shortages, or technical issues.
Experience:
Minimum of two years in commercial construction, preferably in Anchorage.
Familiarity with and ability to safely operate various carpentry tools and machinery.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and blueprints.
Understanding of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safely work in a construction environment (OSHA compliance).
Skills:
Proven ability to execute a range of carpentry tasks, including both rough and finish work.
Strong skills in framing, drywall (patching, taping, texturing), and general woodworking techniques.
Experience with hanging doors, installing windows, cabinetry, and trim work.
Ability to think critically and resolve on-site issues effectively.
Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and keep projects on track.
Strong focus on quality and accuracy, ensuring all work meets company standards.
Travel:
Ability to travel as needed between project sites, various vendors, and other relevant locations.
Most work projects are within the Anchorage bowl.
Requirements:
Willing to learn.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
Cell phone is required for communication, and access to maps for traveling.
Lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 lbs. Stand/walk for extended periods.
Lifting, squatting, crawling, and crouching are required.
Perform physical labor.
Be exposed to various inside and outside working and weather conditions.
PPE & tools will be provided as needed.
