COMPANY OVERVIEW

Grant Aviation is an Alaskan regional airline operating under FAA Part 135, serving rural Alaska. We provide scheduled air transportation of passengers, cargo and mail, as well as air ambulance and charter services. We currently employ about 200 individuals with bases including Anchorage, Bethel, Cold Bay, Dillingham, Dutch Harbor, Emmonak, Kenai and King Salmon.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a motivated, honest, and reliable facilities and vehicle/equipment maintenance technician. This is a full time year round salaried position. The candidate will be expected to travel to our eight base locations for up to a week at a time and perform a wide variety of duties in support of our base operations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintain a good work ethic, including being reliable and punctual in reporting for scheduled work.

Determine project needs, supplies and time for completion and inform appropriate staff.

Accomplish work in a safe efficient manner in accordance with our company policies.

Communicate effectively both up and down via various formats such as voice, text and email.

Document work performed and track expenditures in accordance with company policy and procedures using Word documents and basic spreadsheets.

Maintain equipment and tools used while performing job duties.

Account for company owned tools.

Ensure that work areas are maintained in an orderly manner.

Produce quality work with evident pride of workmanship.

You will also be expected to schedule and coordinate with specialized vendors and contractors in various locations as needed, as well as remain flexible and detail oriented. You will be expected to take care of and clean tools and equipment and keep work areas safe and clear at all times. Due to the scope of work requiring working on airport properties, you will need to be able to obtain required airport badging.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have experience with basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, sheet rock repairs, texturing/painting. You should be able to change a thermocouple, sweat solder copper pipes, bleed air from a boiler loop, safely change a light fixture or outlet, fix anything that leaks under a sink, read a tape measure and cut a straight line with a Skilsaw, hang a window, swing a door, replace a shower tile, clear a clogged drain, neatly repair a sheetrock hole and paint the wall.

Must also able to diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, and braking on a wide variety of equipment including forklifts, pressure washers, aircraft tugs, and an assortment of vehicle makes and models. Self-starting and able to motivate others to assist if required.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Current Drivers License.

Applicants must be 25 years of age or older due to insurance requirements.

Able to pass a DOT background check with no criminal history or disqualifying issues in the last ten years.

Must possess basic hand tools used in performing previously described tasks.

Comfortable operating various equipment, including forklifts or front end loaders

Ability to lift seventy pounds occasionally.

Ability to climb and work safely on a ladder.
