BAC Transportation LLC with a fleet of 30+ needs a skilled Shop Mechanic
Job Title: Fleet Mechanic
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Up to $70,000 Annually DOE
FULL TIME: 40 + hours per week
Must be available on weekends and Holidays
Job Summary
Assist the Shop Manager Lead Fleet Mechanic.
Coordinates, prioritizes, oversees and processes all repairs, reports and maintenance of all vehicles and equipment. Perform all duties in a professional, timely manner using good judgment while keeping safety a top consideration.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 21 years old have a valid driver's license, have a Clean Driving Record with at least 5 years U.S. driving experience.
Must be certified by the Automotive Service of Excellence, or have a degree related to Automotive and or have at least five years experience as a mechanic and two years of diesel engine experience.
Must clear a Criminal History Records Check and a Security Threat Assessment in order to be qualified for an Airport Badge.
Must pass a Pre Employment Drug Test
Must have your own basic hand tools
Skills and Abilities:
Effective written and Verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to read and comprehend technical mechanical manuals etc.
Must be computer literate
Perform various diagnostics and troubleshooting on various mechanical and electrical
problems that may be experienced.
Excellent communication skills must be able to communicate by telephone, and in person in a courteous, friendly and professional manner with all clients, vendors, staff and co-workers
Ability to work in a highly demanding and highly stressful environment
Good eyesight, hearing, manual co-ordination and dexterity
A good memory for details and procedures
Good judgment and decision making skills
The ability to work well in a team environment or independently
Be able to follow verbal and written direction
Physical Demands:
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing for long periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
