Position Summary:

We are seeking full-time, skilled, and experienced Carpenters and Foremen to join our team immediately. We offer year-round work primarily in Anchorage, with occasional projects in Eagle River and the Valley. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the successful completion of a variety of challenging commercial construction projects. These roles require strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Project Execution: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Coordinate with project managers and foremen to meet project timelines and budgets.

- Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure operational cohesion and address any project-related issues. Assist with expediting materials. Must work well amongst construction laborers and provide assistance. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management. Adhere to established work schedules, maintain attendance standards, and be punctual for work and meetings.

- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all projects comply with applicable construction standards, regulatory codes, and safety protocols. Inspect work progress, materials, and equipment to ensure adherence to project specifications. Identify and resolve any construction issues or discrepancies.

- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of construction activities, including daily logs, time sheets, and incident reports.

- Plan Interpretation and Presentation: Proficiently read and interpret architectural and engineering plans. Study the specifications on blueprints, sketches, and building plans to prepare the project layout and determine the required dimensions and materials. Present and explain project plans to inspectors during site visits.

- Carpentry Tasks: Operate hand and power tools. Construct, install, and repair structures made of wood and metal materials. Perform tasks involving physical labor on commercial job sites.

- Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean job site, securing tools and equipment daily.

Qualifications:

Experience:

- Minimum of five years in commercial construction.

- Experience with metal and wood framing, door installation, plan reading, and demolition.

- Proficiency with power tools and hand tools.

- Experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment is a plus.

- Familiarity with the regulatory environment and safety standards applicable to construction projects.

Skills:

- Thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments, must perform well under pressure and maintain efficiency in demanding situations, have strong problem-solving abilities, task initiation, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, contractors, vendors, government agencies, and the public.

- Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision. Must be able to anticipate approaching problems and establish strategic plans for future success.

Travel:

- Ability to travel as needed between project sites, various vendors, and other relevant locations. This includes but is not limited to Anchorage, Eagle River, and Wasilla.

Requirements:

- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.

- Cell phone is required for access to maps for traveling.

- 18 years or older.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

- Lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 lbs.

- Stand/walk for extended periods.

- Lifting, squatting, crawling, and crouching are required.

- Perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

- Ability to use visual acuity to perform detail-oriented activities.

- Be exposed to various inside and outside working and weather conditions.

- PPE will be provided as needed.

Schedule:

- 8-hour shifts: Typically 7:00am-3:30pm

- 40 Hours per week

- Monday to Friday
