Lionheart Construction LLC is currently looking for a qualified individual to join our growing company. Our projects include; home additions, custom kitchens, bathrooms, decks, arctic entry's, fireplaces, light commercial renovations.

Job Title: Lead Carpenter

Reports to: Project Manager

Compensation: $18-35/HR Depending on Experience

Weekly Hours: Average 40 hours.

General Remodeling Skills and other requirements such as but not limited to:

- All phases of residential remodeling

- Rough framing

- Finish trim carpentry including crown molding and other wood working

- Tile work (Strong proficiency in wall and floor tile is preferred)

- Various types of flooring

- Door and window installation

- Cabinetry installation

- Reading and interpretation of plans

- Have a working knowledge of residential construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, time management, safety (refer to Lionheart Construction LLC safety manual), and applicable building codes.

- Driving is required; must have a valid Alaska driver's license and reliable vehicle that is properly licensed and insured.

- Basic math skills, measuring skills, problem solving skills and analytical skills necessary to do material estimates when necessary.

- Preferred five to ten years of residential remodeling and/or residential construction experience. Other qualifications may substitute for this requirement.

- High school Diploma or greater.

- Must be able to lift more than 40 lbs

A base hourly wage will be established for each Remodeling Carpenter as of the date of hire, dependent on individual experience and qualifications. Hours will be totaled and paid on a bi-weekly basis.

2. In your past experience, what was a difficult problem that you ran into on a project and how did you solve it? What did you learn from that experience?

3. A recently framed 12’x18’ interior bedroom has 9’ walls, a flat ceiling and a single 6'-8" interior door. How many square feet of 5/8” drywall is needed? How many square feet of 1/2” drywall is needed. How much flooring is needed? How many linear feet of base trim and door trim is needed just for the inside of the new room?

4. What typical fasteners would you use for shear strength and which fasteners for tensile strength?

5. How would your closest friend or family member describe you in one word and why?
