Foundations Driver: The Foundation’s Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of Foundation youth program participants. Participants will be picked up at designated schools and transported to the activities scheduled location. The Driver will provide youth and families with communication regarding transportation and outreach in the Matsu Borough service area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate youth transportation to activities.
Ensure safety requirements are followed when picking up participants, while in transit, and during the handoff of youth to the activity’s coordinator or trainer/teacher.
Inspect van prior to transport in accordance with Knik Tribe’s (KT) Transportation policy.
Report any vehicle issues to Lead Program Coordinator.
Perform minor vehicle maintenance (i.e., fill washer fluid, schedule old changes, etc.)
Provide outreach information on services available within the Matsu Borough service area.
Submit data and reports on time to the Lead Program Coordinator.
Obtain, track, and document all pertinent information.
Participate in scheduled program/community meetings as requested.
Work as part of a team, the team includes co-workers, partner agencies, and participants/participant parent or guardian.
Maintain confidentiality according to regulations, policies, and procedures.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
One (1) year experience in related field and continuing education towards safety and program improvement, preferred.
Three (3) years’ driving experience with experience driving in congested traffic and/or inclement weather, required.
Valid state of Alaska driver’s license and be insurable under KT’s automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record.
Clean state and federal background check.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYEMENT

Maintain a clean driving record.
Willingness to be trained and new learning environments.
Knowledge and application of professional and ethical conduct as guided by Knik Tribal Council Personnel Manual section 8.1.
General Information:
Supervisor: Foundations Lead Program Coordinator
Schedule: Monday – Friday; 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour DOE/E. Part-Time.
Additional Information: Hiring preferences shall be given to eligible and qualified Alaska Native/American Indian applicants pursuant to P.L. 93-638 Indian Self Determination Act.
