Controlleris responsible for all accounting related activities, including the accurate and timely distribution of financial and management reports such as monthly financial statements, project status reports, variance analysis, etc. Join our dynamic team working with multiple thriving companies under one ownership umbrella. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented accountant to manage the financial records and reporting for multiple accounts.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of general ledger accounting, such as monthly journal entries, monthly reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers, monthly bank reconciliations, monthly accruals and reversals, fixed asset accounting, and monthly revenue recognition and analysis.

Monitor and analyze monthly operating results.

Ensuring all weekly payroll transactions are performed adequately and in compliance with the laws of multiple jurisdictions.

Prepare financial analysis for reports and decision making.

Publish monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and other management reports as needed.

Assist with establishing and maintaining systems and internal controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data.

Assist with company audits and preparation of reports required by regulatory agencies.

Responsible for the administration of the Company 401K plan.

Updating construction in progress reports and making associated GL account adjustments.

Closing the accounting books monthly/quarterly.

Manage 2-4 direct reports and their work products.

Provide Project Managers with job reports as necessary.

Make adjusting journal entries between companies and as necessary.

Close the accounting books as scheduled.

Assist the independent accounting firm with all schedules and reports necessary to complete annual combined financial report and corporate tax returns.

Assist the contract and insurance administrator with all necessary information and reports.

Other Key Skills:

Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office, with a heavy emphasis on Microsoft Excel skills.

General ledger experience.

Experience with month-end closing.

CPA Licensure a positive, but not required.

Company utilizes Sage 100 Contractor, experience is not necessary but preferred.

Attention to detail and strong analytical skills is useful for success.

Willingness to engage in teamwork.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is ideal, with 5 years of progressively responsible work experience, preferably in the construction industry.

In the absence of the education requirement, applicants with at least 10 years of construction accounting experience will be considered for this position.
