Estimator needed for residential contractor:
ABC Inc is a small, local, successful remodeling contractor looking to fill an administrative position involving project estimating, sales and job coordination. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in construction project management; be organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven; and have a desire to take ownership of their projects and business. We are offering a competitive wage commensurate with experience, along with a retirement benefit and paid time off.
Requirements:
- Proficiency at creating and using spreadsheets & word documents, interpreting/ understanding drawings, technical articles, specifications and blueprints. Strong math skills are desired.
- In depth knowledge of residential construction, prior hands on experience ideal.
- Critical thinking and problem solving, ability to design and articulate efficient solutions to our customer's remodeling needs.
- Interpersonal verbal and written communications skills.
- Capable of multi-tasking and maintaining organization.
- Ability to manage projects, subcontractors and vendors.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Create project budgets, scope of work, proposals, work plans and contracts.
- Provide clear and detailed take-offs.
- Interact professionally with customers, vendors and employees.
- Maintain cost analysis of jobs in progress.
- Provide, improve, maintain database for accurate job costing and estimating.
- Research and provide solutions.
