Maintenance Technician

We are immediately seeking skilled candidates with a background in building maintenance for a large housing complex in Fairbanks. Applicants should know and be able to use basic hand and power tools.

Job Duties Can Include:

Addressing service calls and handling various property maintenance needs.

Perform maintenance and rehabilitation of properties. Duties include but are not limited to cleaning, painting, interior and exterior decorating, lawn care, debris removal, plumbing, electrical work, smoke detector maintenance, relocation of furniture and fixtures, as well as the repair or replacement of lights, roofs, heating and air conditioning systems, and appliances.

Transport, install, and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other electrical and gas appliances.

Perform on-call emergency repairs and complete repairs as instructed by the immediate supervisor or other management representatives.

Load and unload trucks and other conveyances; move supplies and materials to the proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stack materials for storage or binning; collect refuse and salvageable materials.

Transport equipment, furnishings, and appliances to job sites.

Repair and fabricate window and door screens and frames.

Digs/fills and tamps earth excavations; levels grounds using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake; shovels concrete; cleans culverts and ditches; cuts trees and brush; operates power tools and lawnmowers.

Removing floor tiles, sheet vinyl, ceramic tiles, and plywood. Also includes the removal of damaged drywall.

Operate power blowers or use brooms to clean rooftops, sidewalks, and driveways of leaves and debris. Ensures work-site cleanup.

Maintaining vehicle and vehicle inventory as prescribed.

Must maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with residents, visitors, contractors, and fellow employees.

This is a full-time position with pay starting at $22-$25/HR Depending on experience, Monday -Friday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm If you have a strong work ethic and are knowledgeable in routine building maintenance, apply today!

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

1-3 years of relevant work experience

A Valid Driver’s License, insurance, and vehicle registration is required.

Must be able to obtain post access.
