We are searching for an experienced Information Security Engineer at our Alasconnect Fairbanks Office facility.

Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Information Security Manager and the Information Security Supervisor, this position conducts professional service engagements with clients, reviews internal and external security controls, and performs other security duties in support of operational security team members. This position designs and architects security systems, specifications, plans, and governance documentation.
Essential Functions:
Conducts professional service engagements for assessments of information security governance, risk, and compliance (GRC)
Designs and documents specifications for technical, administrative, and physical controls to demonstrate compliance, ensuring that regulatory and compliance obligations are met
Develops compliance remediation strategies
Develops, maintains, and researches security compliance products and professional services
Identifies, analyzes, evaluates, and documents information security risks and controls based on established risk criteria
Reviews control gaps and escalates critical issues to key stakeholders
Recommends controls to mitigate security risks identified via risk assessment process
Communicates risk findings and recommendations that are clear and actionable by business stakeholders
Leads workforce security activities including culture, awareness, and training
Researches, recommends, and contributes to information security polices, standards, and procedures
Non-Essential Functions:
Serves as trusted technical expert, coach and mentor to junior team members
Organizes, leads, or supports incident response and disaster recovery teams
Support the essential functions of the operational security engineer(s)
Assists with the evaluation of the effectiveness of the information security program by developing, monitoring, gathering, and analyzing information security and compliance metrics for management
Works with other organizational participants to implement information security policies
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skill & Ability Requirements:
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of information security and assurance practices
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of systems principles, architecture, design, analysis and troubleshooting
Experience with internal data security controls audit
Experience with effective risk management practices and principals
Exceptional follow-through and attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and with a group
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows computing environments
Intermediate knowledge of computer system, network functions
Required Qualifications:
Three years relevant professional experience
Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field preferred
Relevant professional certifications preferred
