Job Description!
We are one of the interior’s most successful tour companies. We run a fleet of Ford Transit Vans and conduct daily tours year-round to destinations like the Arctic Circle and Chena Hot Springs during the day in summer and night time aurora tours in the winter. We also conduct snowmachine tours daily in the wintertime.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a reliable and competent person with a clean driving record to join our team to perform the following duties that include, but are not limited to:
Undertaking basic vehicle repairs and maintenance on our vans year round
Maintaining and conducting repairs on snow machines during the winter tour season.
Ensuring the safety of our guides and customers by ensuring all vehicles are in good working order
Identifying potential mechanical issues and take remedial action to limit any downtime of our vans or snowmachines
Conducting routine oil changes
Changing tires
Inspecting and replacing brakes, windscreen wipers and conducting general maintenance as needed etc.
Scheduling and coordinating any major maintenance/repairs with local automotive repair companies.
Identifying and diagnosing any mechanical issues on our snowmachines (which may include recovery and return to the workshop if they break down mid-tour)
Being available to recover vans in the event of accident or break down mid-tour (day or night)
Assist with other maintenance around the office/workshop as required
If selected for this job, you will be required to provide a DMV report showing your driving record for the past 3 years (is obtainable online).
Hours
We are offering up to full-time hours, with flexibility depending on workload but looking for somebody to be available between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday/Saturday. Hours will be subject to change depending on season and workload. The role will also be required to occasionally be ‘on call’ and available to respond to any emergencies that may occur with our vans, such as breakdowns, accidents or if stuck in snow or mud somewhere.
Pay
Starting pay is from $25/hr, depending on experience.
