We are looking for a full time mail subcontractor in the Goldstream Rd. area of Fairbanks.
The contract consists of casing (sorting), loading, and, using your own vehicle, delivering the mail to mailboxes, picking up any outgoing mail in the mailboxes, delivering packages to customer homes as required, and returning to the Post Office and unloading etc. The vehicle used must have four-wheel or all-wheel drive and be of at least standard suv size to meet cargo capacity requirements.
The contract is six days a week. Start time is 7:00am and can be adjusted with agreement of postmaster and the contract owner. All postal holidays will be observed, therefore, no work on postal holidays. If a second, package delivery run is required it will be paid at a per mile rate in addition to the daily pay. The contract will be through 9/30/2029.
The pay rate is 200/day (The hours vary with the seasons, with typically fewer than 8 hours a day in summer and more in winter. Efficiency is important.)
Minimum wages while training. This could take one day or one week depending on your learning abilities.
You will be required to pass a background check and drug test. Additionally you will be required to provide a 5 year driving record background available online from the DMV. Employment is dependent on passing drug and background checks and meeting postal requirements for driving record.
