Destination Alaska Adventure Company is an outdoor adventure company based in Homer, AK. We are looking for a self-motivated, flexible, hard worker who is eager to gain experience in the tourism industry. We have an opening for a seasonal tour guide to join our team. Job duties entail acting as program manager for the Argo tour branch of the company. This person will lead Argo tours, manage the maintenance for the Argos and oversee the assistant guide position.
Job Title: Guide (Backcountry Argo Tours)
Job Type: Full-time / Seasonal (May 15th, 2024 – September 30th, 2024)
Pay: Paid Per Trip
Physical setting: Outdoors (Backcountry Trails)
Schedule: Flexible
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical knowledge base
- Familiar with 8 x 8 Argo ATVs
- Experience towing large trailers
- Friendly demeaner, positive attitude and customer centric mindset
- Maintain a positive attitude and work in a professional manner
- Able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle
- Flexible schedule and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with varying tasks day-to-day
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Mechanical background
- 2+ years of experience in tourism industry
- Local knowledge of Homer and Alaska
- Familiar with trail system in and around Caribou Lake area
