We are looking for someone with experience as a deck-hand; who can act as a co-captain, who loves to fish.
Are you positive and upbeat, a people-person?
Are you a dependable second mate, a good deck hand or co-captain with a good knowledge of boats?
Can you multi-task on board, catering to clients, working with the captain to bring in limits of fish?
Do you take instructions well and are you open to learning new techniques?
Do you work well under pressure and in close quarters?
Do you have experience in hauling in monster halibut?
Are you a team player; able to follow directions and communicate well?
Do you love to be on the ocean, fishing for a variety of species?

About us
We are a full-service, deluxe fishing lodge catering exclusively to 12 guests on a weekly or semi-weekly basis; offering fully-guided salt water or fresh water fishing trips. We are a family-run business and have a long-standing relationship with our clients, taking them out on the salt or the local rivers every day. We fish 4-people to a boat and fish full days.
You must have/be:
Deck hand experience
Membership to a Drug Testing Program
First Aid Card
Physically fit with good hearing & eye sight
Fishing License & king salmon stamp for the season
Job Description
Tie fishing gear, sharpen hooks, keep track of tackle inventory, change line as needed
Clean, maintain reels; rods
Maintain fishing gear, safety equipment; rain gear
Assist the captain in setting out lines and bait for fishing
Assist guests in bringing in fish by gaff, net or harpoon
Bleed catch and stow in hold/fish box
Wash boat, deck, knives; other equipment
Keep boat and gear in pristine order
Pull anchor, maintain; repair chains/ropes as necessary
At sea act as look-out for debris or logs that could damage boat
Lubricate machinery and equipment, tow hitch & wheels
Make sure fish scale is clean and charged
Warm up motors and flush every morning prior to fishing, and in afternoon upon return from fishing
Check engine oil levels daily; organize maintenance schedule as needed
Clean; maintain cleanliness of deck, head on board
Record catch; maintain daily entries in log book
Mark GAF fish; record any GAF fish caught in log book and report catch to NOAA
Load boat with drinks, thermoses & lunches every day/unload same upon return from fishing
Unload and hang catch; take photographs with guests; fillet fish as needed
Write up invoices for fish processing; make sure fish is picked up/dropped off in a timely manner
Pull bait for next excursion, as needed.
