About the Role:The Senior Manager of Databases, reporting to the Director of IT, will work on the Platform Engineering Team in FSD. You will manage available and highly secure databases. This is a critical role in managing existing on-prem databases and leading on-prem to Cloud database migrations. You will collaborate with a team of experienced DBAs to ensure our databases are performant, secure, and scalable.Main Responsibilities:Database Migration: Deliver the migration of on-premises Oracle databases to AWS RDS Aurora MySQL/PostgreSQL using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and Schema Conversion Tool (SCT).Database Administration: Manage AWS RDS PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.Performance Tuning: Resolve database performance issues, improve queries, and manage resource allocation to improve system performance.Security: Implement and enforce data security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and adherence to industry compliance standards.Backup and Recovery: Design and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and support disaster recovery efforts.Automation: Develop automation scripts using Terraform and manage deployment pipelines with Jenkins for database provisioning, scaling, and maintenance.Collaboration: Work with development and operations teams to provide database support, troubleshooting, and technical guidance.Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations and processes.Continuous Learning: Stay current with AWS and database technologies, recommending optimizations.
