Description We are on the lookout for an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team based in Chandler, Arizona. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience throughout the registration process. This position is within the Emergency Department and involves various days and hours. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Employ excellent customer service skills to improve patient experience during the registration process. Ensure appropriate patient identification and collect accurate and thorough patient demographic data. Obtain insurance information, verify eligibility and benefits, and ensure that the services rendered are appropriately reimbursed. Determine and collect patient financial liability, referring patients to the Patient Registration Specialist as needed for assistance with financial counseling and/or clearance. Adhere to the organization's policies and procedures for resolution of patient financial liability. Act as an information source for patients and families by explaining hospital policies, patient financial responsibilities, and Patient Rights and Responsibilities. Maintain accurate customer records and take appropriate action on customer accounts. Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Resolve customer inquiries efficiently and effectively. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Requirements Must possess strong Customer Service skills and experience Knowledge of various Procedures and Policies related to patient care coordination Experience with Insurance matters, particularly in a healthcare setting Proficiency in Workstation Support, including the use of healthcare-specific software and systems Understanding of Benefit Functions and Reimbursements in a healthcare context Ability to manage Liability and Offshore matters in patient care coordination Experience handling Patient Demographic data and Patient Registration Understanding of the Registration Process in a healthcare setting Experience with Financial Counseling for patients Familiarity with Patient Financial matters Knowledge of TRICARE, NIS, and other relevant healthcare programs Respect for Patient rights and the ability to uphold these in all interactions.
