Black Barts Steakhouse is looking for line cooks and dishwashers for an evening shift.

The dishwashing position requires being able to lift at least 30lbs, stand for 6-8 hours and to keep a standard of organization and cleanliness during your shift.

Line cook expectations:

Know and comply consistently with standard cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen practices.

Prep and portion all food before dinner service. Stock inventory appropriately.

Cook meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.

Run a line station by yourself during dinner service.

Assumes responsibility for quality, food safety/sanitation and timeliness of products served.

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the management staff.

Ensure plate presentation looks great.

Keep it clean! Follow the sanitation standards, make sure your work station stays clean and organized, and follow all of the food handling standards.

You need to be:

Someone who loves to cook! You consistently have an eye for the important details. Being able to work in a fast paced environment is vital, and if you have prior experience to prove it, that's even better. Speaking and understanding English is a must, and so is being comfortable standing for long periods of time. You'll need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds, have a great work ethic and the flexibility in your schedule to work weekends and some holidays. We will be willing to train someone with less experience if you have a great attitude.
