DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK
Performs customer service functions and is responsible cash handling for retail enterprise.
Under direct supervision of the Visitor Center Manager, employees of this class are expected to follow established andwell-defined procedures in the handling of visitors’ requests, database entry, maintenance of the brochure displays,operation of the gift shop and daily upkeep of the Flagstaff Visitor Center located at the train station and/or the ExpressVisitor Center at the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport.

Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
May participate in the development of visitor needs based itineraries that are detailed in timelines, costs and directionsthat are available as hand outs to visitors at the Center.
May assist the CVB with a Master Calendar, the Calendar of Events and Flagstaff Happenings that list all communityhappenings and events.
May assist the CVB with promotion and distribution of Master Calendar, Calendar of Events and Flagstaff Happenings.
May participate in the establishment of measures to improve visitor services, changes in operations, working conditions,quality of work and value to stakeholders.
Performs liaison duties between the Visitor Center, the CVB, the Arizona Office of Tourism, stakeholders and thecommunity.
May assist with meetings and workshops to train staff and stakeholders on customer service matters.
Represents the city in dealing with businesses and the general public on customer service matters.
Performs data entry and maintains a reporting cycle of inquiries, histories, and information requested by the VisitorCenter Manager, CVB Director and the Tourism Commission.
Keeps the Visitor Center Manager advised of customer service activities.
Maintains appropriate levels of brochures, office supplies, retail items and other materials necessary for the efficientoperation of the visitor center.
Performs cash handling procedures including scanning items, collecting payment of cash and cards, and verifying IDs forAlcohol Sales.
Maintains the facility both inside and outside in a neat and orderly appearance.
Performs related duties as required.
Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(positions in this class typically require):
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid Arizona driver's license.

Supplemental Information
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
·Must have knowledge of Flagstaff and surrounding area attractions, events and businesses.
·Excellent telephone skills in order to both respond to visitor inquiries and initiate customer contact.
·Must have basic computer experience and knowledge in Outlook, Word & Excel.
·Ability to assist with the identification of internal and external marketing opportunities and work with the CVB staff toimplement.
·Ability to communicate clearly in response to visitor inquiries.
·Ability to effectively resolve customer problems and requests.
·Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, city officials and to deal tactfully with thegeneral public.
·Working knowledge of basic cash management procedures.
·Working knowledge of alcohol sale laws and ability to complete AZ Basic On-sale Training within 30 days of hiring.
·Experience in a customer service environment.
