Job Summary: Carpet/Floor Technician
The carpet/floor technician is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of carpets, tile, grout and upholstery of the resort units and public areas, as well as assisting housemen with routine resort upkeep.
Essential Job Functions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Utilize proper cleaning methods for maintenance of resort flooring
Inspect and maintain equipment, coordinate cleanings and report any problems to the department supervisor with respect to repairs.
Responsible for the cleanliness and security of the department vehicle used.
The technician will communicate with respective departments to provide a daily cleaning structure
Assist housemen with upkeep of supplies; deliver linen, paper products and unit amenities.
Remove trash from units and floors.
Coordinate and create linen and amenities bags.
Receive, sort, fold, and collect soiled linen.
Organize, clean, and maintain stock levels of department storage areas according to company's cleanliness and safety standards.
Deliver requested item(s) to guest units (irons, coffee, paper products, kitchen utensils, etc.)
Assist in resort security by responding to emergency radio calls appropriately
Attend to guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Wyndham Hotel Group Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
Comply with Wyndham Hotel Group Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
Report to Housemen Supervisor
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
a) Education
Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent
b) Knowledge and skills
Detail oriented with organizational skills
Experienced in operating carpet and floor cleaning tools and equipment
Experience and knowledge of chemicals used on various fabrics and carpets
Clean driving record
Ability to read and comprehend routine instructions, short correspondence and memos
Ability to give high priority to customer service
Ability to receive, sort, and fold laundry.
Must maintain a professional appearance and a Can-Do, positive attitude towards all guests and staff
Must be people oriented and able to work independently or with others as needed
Able to bend, lift about 50 lbs., push and pull majority of the time
c) Job experience
6 months experience in housekeeping or building maintenance experience
Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Must be able to provide authorization to work in the United States
Wyndham Flagstaff Resort requires the successful completion of a background check and drug screen prior to employment
Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement.
