Hours: 7 or 8am to noon Monday to Friday
Pay: Depends on experience
Applicants must have at least three years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant
Job responsibilities:
Assist attorney in all aspects of family law and probate cases
Effectively communicate with clients, opposing parties, court staff
Draft professional letters, emails and legal documents
Confer with all parties involved; monitor progress; follow up to ensure all required actions are completed
Use law office management software to manage and automate case processes
Applicants for this job should:
- Be self-motivated and independently manage cases.
- Know how to draft AZ divorce and child custody litigation pleadings, correspondence, disclosures, discovery, and trial-related documents.
- Know how (or be ready and able to quickly learn) to draft formal and informal probate pleadings and be familiar with (or be ready and able to quickly learn) Arizona probate procedure.
- Proficiently prepare files for trial, including exhibits.
- Have excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Calendar and manage all court deadlines for attorneys.
- Require little training and supervision.
- Have a cheerful attitude with clients and at the office.
- Be open and willing to ask for instructions or clarification.
- Possess high-quality grammar and writing skills.
- Excellent proof-reading skills.
- Enjoy writing.
- Be technologically savvy.
- Experience using Clio a plus.
- A desire to have a positive impact on families a plus.
This position could expand to a full time position for the right person with the option of working remotely.
