Summary
The primary responsibility of a Superintendent is to manage the on-site day-to-day construction activities of the project. The Superintendent is responsible for the coordination of materials, subcontractor services, and schedules to meet completion dates. The Superintendent is responsible and held accountable for implementing the requirements of the company’s Safety and Health Program on the jobsite.
Responsibilities
Comply with all applicable state and federal safety and health regulations found in the Arizona Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and other regulations. Ensure compliance by all subcontractors
Stay informed of any changes to the state and federal health and safety regulations and implement changes as necessary
Comply with Construction’s Safety and Health Programs. Ensure compliance by all subcontractors
Conduct weekly safety inspections and subcontractor safety meetings to ensure the jobsites are maintained free from unsafe or unhealthful conditions. Ensure any identified deficiencies related to project safety and health have been corrected in a timely manner
Ensure all subcontractors use safety devices, safeguards, and personal protective equipment as necessary. Ensure all visitors to jobsite (i.e., owner, architect, engineer, consultants, vendors, etc.) are provided with the necessary personal protective equipment and observe applicable safety rules
Participate in any safety training, safety inspections or other safety and health activities required by this program. Ensure all subcontractors have received the necessary training
Maintain required onsite job postings. Maintain all required safety and health records
Manage projects from pre-planning to completion
Create, manage critical path methods (CPM) schedule. Updated weekly
Manage compliance with quality control standards. Including but not limited to QAQC program
Weekly updating of project as-builts
Manage, review, and coordinate submittals for implementation and project needs
Manage material delivery and subcontractor schedules
Prepare necessary daily reports and documentation and submit to office as required
Conduct and attend safety and project meetings with onsite personnel
Attend all required project meetings with owners, architects and subcontractors
Manage all work to complete and punch-lists through project closeout
Manage all closeout documentation including final as-builts, commissioning and governmental compliance
Responsible for review and initiating all field RFIs for submittal to design team. Including verification of response and distribution to affective subs
Manage review and coordinate all approved Change Orders, including Architectural directives and changes
Qualifications
1-5 years of experience on construction projects in a superintendent role
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of the management of site logistics and contract operations
Knowledge in Excel, Word, Outlook products, construction schedules
Procore, Bluebeam, Phoenix Project Management Scheduling software preferred
Must be able to read construction documents and drawings. With knowledge of all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
Strong technical and communication skills
OSHA Certificated preferred
