The Active Directory Senior Subject Matter Expert is responsible for supporting Army networks.As an Active Directory Senior Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing virtualization technologies for a large, dispersed enterprise. This role requires deep expertise in virtualization platforms, particularly VMware and/or Hyper-V, along with a strong understanding of cloud integration and hybrid cloud environments. You will collaborate closely with other IT teams to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security of our virtualized infrastructure.Essential Job DutiesResponsible for:
Analyzing requirements, concept of operations documents, and system architectures to develop system requirements specifications and resulting design plans.
Designing, architecting, and deploying AD solutions based on requirements and best practices, for a large, dispersed enterprise.
Developing and documenting systems administration standard operating procedures, system configurations, procedures, and policies.
Complying with organization systems administration standard operating procedures.
Conducting functional and connectivity testing to ensure continuing operability.
Installing, updating and troubleshooting systems/servers.
Interacting with the Government regarding technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
Leading initiatives to optimize and enhance existing AD configurations.
Maintaining baseline system security according to organizational policies.
Managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
Managing system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
Performing repairs on faulty system/server hardware.
Planning and directing upgrades of Windows Server infrastructure and related components in the area of Active Directory, Domain Controller topology, LDAP, Authentication Services, DNS, Permissions and Access Controls and Group Policy.
Planning, executing and verifying data redundancy and system recovery procedures.
Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
Reviewing the completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements, and making recommendations for refinement and improvement.
Troubleshooting hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
Participating in on-call rotation and escalation support as needed.

Education :
MA/MS +10 -OR- BA/BS in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science +12 years of experience managing organizations similar in size, scope, and complexity.Security Clearance Level : Active SECRET clearanceRequired Skills and Abilities:
Expertise in complex information systems and architectures that encompass multiple disparate databases, networks, and communication subsystems.
Must meet DoD 8140 DCWF 451 requirements (B.S., A+, CASP+, CCNP Security, CCSP, Cloud+, CND, FITSP-O, GFACT, GICSP, GSEC, Network+, Security+, SSCP)
The following certifications:
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or the current highest level of Microsoft certification for Active Directory
An IAT II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) is required
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server Active Directory design and implementation
Experience with Group Policy Management
Experience with Windows DNS and DHCP
Experience with LDAP
Experience with Active Directory Federation Services
Experience with Active Directory Domains and Trusts
Experience with Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages.
System configuration experience and hardening based on security guidelines, such as DISA STIGs
Must be proficient with the following: vSphere HA, vCenter HA, Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), VMotion, Certificate management, Key Management System, Enhanced Link Mode, VCSA Backup and Recovery, Host Profile, Network configurations such as VMKernel, VMNic, distributed switch configurations, Content Libraries, and vSAN storage policies.
Candidate should be knowledgeable with how a network communicates to software and hardware appliances, including failover, Fault Tolerance, and RAID.
Maintaining VSAN 7.0 (all-flash) SSD data storage systems.
Knowledge with configuration of virtual Switches and VLANs.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Ensuring ESXI and uptime to Central/Core virtual computing environment meets the Monthly DRRS availability rate (current DRRS rate is 99.7%).
Familiarity with vROPs (ARIA Operations), SRM, vRA, and Horizon 7 DELL EMC server hardware.
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Must be willing to work overtime, after hours, holidays, and weekends, as necessary. This position may require periods of non-traditional working hours, to include consecutive nights and/or weekends.
Preferred Skills:
First-hand knowledge of the mission and operational requirements of the U.S. Army.
A demonstrated understanding of U.S. Army IT operational and technical requirements, and an advanced understanding of U.S. Army IT applications and network systems.
Experience with Microsoft Identity Manager and/or Forefront Identity Manager experience is a plus.
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and software-defined storage (SDS) concepts.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
One or more of the following certifications:
FITSP-O: Federal IT Security Professional-Operator-NG
GFACT: GIAC Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies
CASP+: CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner plus
