Position Summary: Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), performs basic patient care activities.Reports to: The Certified Nursing Assistant is directly accountable to the Department Director / Clinical Coordinator through the Registered Nurses and the Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses and is ultimately responsible to the Chief Nursing Officer. Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.The primary purpose of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position is to assist the professional nursing staff by providing personal nursing care to patients. The Certified Nursing Assistant has the responsibility of reporting any unusual occurrences, patient and/or employee issues, work related accidents to the Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses who are responsible for the delivery of patient care.
