Join us.DescriptionAs a Portfolio Manager within Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT), you will have a passion for ensuring that grade control customers are supported in all aspects of the product life cycle. You will work with CTCT, Caterpillar and Trimble employees to determine the business problems that need to be solved to ensure success in providing construction technology tiered solutions aligned with our strategy. The Portfolio Manager will help develop the product roadmap in collaboration with Caterpillar Earthmoving product groups and the CTCT Product, Portfolio and Customer Segment teams. Your core purpose will be to lead by example and be the voice of business for Caterpillar within CTCT, putting the end customer at the center of all we do.You’ll be joining the team in an exciting growth phase, and we will be looking for you to hit the ground running. Serving as a key conduit between the Caterpillar Earthmoving Product Groups and CTCT product teams, you will use your exceptional communication and diplomacy skills to ensure the success of the CTCT grade control portfolio and enable Trimble and Caterpillar to not only win in the market but help shape the construction machine control industry.Job Duties

Working with the Earthmoving product groups and CTCT Customer Segment team, apply your knowledge of the construction grade control market and its competitive landscape to provide problem statements, objectives, hypotheses, money stories, and expected outcomes to the CTCT Product Teams.

Own the translation and representation of product requests from Caterpillar Earthmoving product groups and their respective priority in the product team backlogs.

Help develop the tiered offering strategy to ensure the parent business areas and product groups will be as successful as possible with the growing portfolio of CTCT products over their lifecycle.

Effectively advocate for easy to use, tiered solutions that are built on the platform, upgradeable, interoperable and extensible.

Working with the CTCT Customer Segment team, support market research and competitive evaluations, and share that information widely to seed understanding.

Competently employ Aha! as the source of truth in the representation of the above.

Work in collaboration with the Caterpillar Earthmoving product groups to develop go to market strategies appropriate for their targeted customer segments.

Work in a worldwide team with key directives to help shape the grade control product and platform strategy and MGPP.

Use data to prioritize and deliver the best possible solution for our customers and assist both parents with successful product launches, sales, adoption, and usage.

Stay current with construction industry trends and market insights to inform product strategy.

Guide the adoption of business objectives and key results, and the use of dashboards to track and measure success.

Foster a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation throughout the product lifecycle in partnership with engineering and user experience leaders.

Communicates well downward, upward, and outward. Employs appropriate methods of persuasion when soliciting agreement. Maintains focus on the topic at hand.What you have (Basic Qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant degree or 5+ years relevant industry experience

5+ years of technology product development, product management, or other related experience

Top Candidates will also bring:

5+ years of machine control industry or related experience

Demonstrated knowledge of the construction industry and earthmoving applications

Experience working in a collaborative global team with cultural differences

Growth minded self-starter with demonstrated passion for construction technology

Having a flexible approach to working in a changing environment
