Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Mesa, Arizona. The selected candidate will be expected to step into a crucial role within our team, overseeing a range of accounting tasks, from journal entries to bank reconciliations. You will also be expected to utilize a variety of skills, such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, in a fast-paced work environment.Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation and processing of journal entries to maintain the general ledger Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial information Manage the posting of accruals to align with financial reporting schedules Oversee accounts payable activities including check runs and data entry tasks Conduct month-end close procedures in a timely and accurate manner Utilize QuickBooks desktop for various accounting tasks and reporting Ensure all account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliations, are completed accurately Directly communicate and report to the appropriate supervisor Ensure all customer records are maintained accurately and efficiently Handle any additional accounting duties as needed. Requirements Must have proven experience in the role of Sr. Accountant or a similar position Proficiency in using accounting software, specifically QuickBooks, is essential Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliations Must have strong skills in General Ledger management and Journal Entries Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required Experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary Proficient in Account Reconciliation Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Must have a degree in Accounting or an equivalent field Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
