I’m looking for someone to help with chores around my small ranch.
Fencing, feeding animals, cleaning their pens, putting up shade structures for the animals, fixing items that have broken or need repair, hauling hay and grain, removing yucca, and cactus as needed, laying down Gravel, and possibly pavers for walkways, hopefully someone that has some basic skills on building small items. I.e. fixing things in the goat pen. Or in the chicken house. Making boxes for the goats to climb on I’d love to build an outdoor shower for a composting toilet outside.
Reliability is a must. Somebody who has work ethic Integrity and doesn’t always have to be supervised constantly. This might sound crazy… But being able to trust you, knowing that you can think on your feet, but you have common sense, knowing that you have no intention of taking things that don’t belong to you, that you’re not gonna drop tools in the dirt and then forget about them, that when you use a tool that you’re gonna put it back where you found it and not just throw it in the tool shed things that matter to me. I’m not looking for someone to just come here work a couple hours take advantage and bail. I won’t treat you that way and don’t you treat me that way because if you do, it won’t work. It’s not how I operate.
I have multiple dogs. Someone who is not afraid of animals, dogs, goats, chickens. If you know how to care for them, that is a much needed benefit. Taking care of hooves, needed nutrients, etc.
I appreciate peoples ideas and suggestions. But ultimately if I want something done my way that’s important to me. If it’s wrong then that’s on me. But please, let me know if you have a different way.
Someone who’s not afraid to work with a woman. Who doesn’t get butt hurt if I give a different suggestion or have a question about what they’re doing, or wants to do it a different way. Somebody who can check their ego at the door. If you can’t do that, please do not apply. I’m laid-back and easy-going but if I have a suggestion or a problem, I will let you know. In a kind way I’m not an asshole, but you will hear for me.
I’m being honest and upfront and truthful because that’s how I am. And yes, I’ve had problems with this before so if that’s a problem for you then we won’t work out. That’s why I’m saying this here.
I start out at $15 an hour. When we realize that we work well together and you’ve met all requirements I am willing to go up to $20 an hour. We’ll just have to wait and see and talk about it.
I found that it is a good idea to try people out for a couple of days, with pay, of course. To see if this is for them and whether or not we work well together.
