Seeking part-time Public Records Data Collectors to perform courthouse research and public records collections. Top candidates will be motivated self-starters, professional, self-disciplined, ideally have prior data collection experience, and be comfortable working with multiple software programs and web browsers. An understanding of judgments and tax liens a plus. The position is for an independent contractor to work part-time, paid at piece-rate, and offers flexibility in work schedule.
Summary: Working on the premises of the appropriate public government office(s) per assigned territory (examples:, County Clerks Office, Justice Court, Superior Court, etc.) as well as working from home office. Responsible for collecting/reviewing/recording/transmitting public record data. Ensuring that all work is performed timely and accurately, with methods consistent with documented procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
⢠Collect assigned data at the assigned government office. May collect only data types specifically assigned, for specific dates, and only at the assigned county office(s);
⢠Review the assigned data (examples, not inclusive: debt collection judgments, eviction judgments, small claims judgments, satisfactions of judgments, federal and state tax liens and tax lien releases);
⢠Research and collect additional data on judgment and lien records;
⢠Accurately and efficiently enter data into a form database;
⢠Transmit data electronically;
⢠Complete administrative tasks by deadlines, such as recording/transmitting hours worked, correctly designating time worked, and, if requested, photocopy/fax/email actual judgment or lien records, or additional administrative tasks assigned;
⢠Complete all assigned tasks timely;
⢠Establish and maintain open dialog and relationship with the clerk(s) of the government office(s) to which you are assigned;
⢠At all times when working must represent a professional work ethic, courteous demeanor, neat/clean appearance and attire, and respect for the rules of the government office(s) where assigned to collect data;
⢠Must be adaptable to the working conditions at the assigned government office(s);
⢠If expressly assigned multiple county collection territories, per written directive, travel from one work site to another during the course of one workday may be required;
⢠Should travel between work sites be required, must have access to transportation and valid drivers license;
⢠Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Data Entry/Keying Competency Expectations:
⢠Mandatory minimum competency requires you to collect/key/transmit an absolute minimum of 25 records per hour and 1000 records per week while maintaining 97% or greater accuracy with no errors. Expectation is that Data Collectors will consistently exceed these requirements.
Skills Required:
⢠Strong computer/technology skills to get personal laptop set up with data entry application as well as navigate search software with no assistance;
⢠Must be extremely detail oriented;
⢠Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multitask;
⢠Ability to work efficiently to meet/exceed minimum required standards and self-manage time;
⢠Must be a disciplined, motivated self-starter, able to work independent of on-site supervision;
⢠Ability to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events;
⢠Seeks and conveys ideas to improve and promote efficiency;
⢠Meets challenges with resourcefulness;
⢠Prefer someone who is experienced with tax liens, judgments and court procedures but willing to train if all other qualifications are met.
Other Requirements:
⢠Must have a smart phone to take clear pictures of documents/case information;
⢠Must provide your own laptop that will meet specified minimum requirements;
⢠Work attire must be casual professional as you will be expected to present a clean, neat, professional appearance and abide by posted dress codes when visiting government offices.
