Function:
To manage, oversee and administer the assigned branch location including yard operations, inventory control, distribution, merchandising, and location operations in a cost-effective manner consistent with goals identified in the companys annual operation plan. Must be able to comprehend and perform business math calculations necessary to accurately generate sales orders, do estimates and calculate Gross Profit margins and sales commission. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Duties:
To oversee and manage a branch location for contractor, fabricator and walk in sales performance, location operations and appearance, cash management, loss prevention, inventory management, product display and pricing.
To operate the branch location in accordance with income and expense targets consistent with the companys annual operating plan.
To be responsible for and serve as custodian of all company assets at the branch including, merchandise, machinery, equipment, vehicles and material.
To oversee the hiring training, motivating evaluation, and separation, if necessary, of all employees at the designated branch location.
Execute policies and procedures, designed to streamline operations, improve efficiency, minimize cost and maximize profits.
Assure that Branch Operation employees meet or exceed established guidelines for standards of performance and excellent customer service.
Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Required- AA degree in inventory or distribution management, logistics or business administration or equivalent experience.
Preferred: BA in business administration
Experience:
Required- 4 years of progressive experience in a commodity steel or mental sales environment leading to a supervisory position having inventory, staffing and profit and loss responsibilities.
Preferred 8 years of progressive experience in a multiple location, commodity metals and distribution operation leading to branch management with total profit and loss responsibilities.
