Remote Part-Time Bookkeeping & Tax Assistant (Growth Opportunity)

We are a growing tax and bookkeeping firm seeking a reliable, organized, and self-sufficient assistant with real bookkeeping and tax office experience. This is a remote, part-time position to start, with the potential to grow into a long-term, full-time role as the business continues to expand.

This role is ideal for someone who wants stability, consistency, and the ability to grow within a business.

Schedule

Part-time to start:

Monday–Thursday | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

If/when full-time:

Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

This position is part-time to start and may transition to full-time on or after February 1, based on workload and performance.

Hours may increase to full-time during tax season and may later adjust based on workload and business needs.

Availability during these hours is required.

Remote Work Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

You must have a private, quiet workspace/office

Reliable high-speed internet

A computer/laptop you can work from (not phone-only)

Ability to make/receive client phone calls without background noise

You must be able to work undistracted during scheduled hours

Experience Required (Not Entry-Level):

You must already have experience with:

Bookkeeping (QuickBooks Online required)

Transaction categorization & bank/credit card reconciliations

Tax office support (organizing client documents, basic tax prep assistance, notices, transcripts, transcripts, follow-ups, etc.)

Calling clients and communicating professionally by phone

Professional written communication (email/text)

Working independently with minimal hand-holding

What This Role Includes:

Calling clients to request documents and follow up

Accurately answering basic client tax questions by phone

Calling IRS to order information

Bookkeeping and administrative support

Managing tasks, checklists, and deadlines independently
