Position Overview:
New Way is seeking two experienced athletic coaches for Baseball and Cheerleading for students in grades 3rd through 12th. New Way participates in the Canyon Athletic Association (CAA), and coaches must adhere to CAA policies and requirements. This is a part time position, Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m.
Responsibilities include:
Attain all certifications and attend league meetings prior to the start of the season.
Organize, set up and conduct practices 1-4 days per week.
Coaches should continuously supervise students during practice and games, and ensure they have safe transportation home.
Coaches must be able to transport students to and from away games using school vans.
Knowledge, Skills, Characteristics, and Abilities:
Coaches must have experience and knowledge of the sport being coached and be able to teach and communicate with students the skills needed to be successful.
Coaches must be able to build individual relationships and build team cohesiveness and teamwork.
Coaches must familiarize themselves with the rules of the CAA, acquire league coaching certifications, and follow all rules during practices and games.
Credentials and Experience:
Coaches must be at least 21 years of age or have previous coaching experience.
Coaches should have extensive experience and knowledge in the sport.
Coaches must pass all background checks, fingerprinting, and coaching courses.
Compensation:
Competitive compensation for this part time position is $25 to $50 per hour based on experience
